Protecting Historical Artifacts at a Bangkok Temple with OPTEX REDSCAN Technology

A historic temple in Bangkok, originally established in 1567 (2110 BE) during the reign of King Rama I, is renowned for its exquisite architecture and religious significance. Over centuries, it has undergone extensive renovations, featuring beautiful structures such as chedis and ordination halls, as well as housing important relics and Buddha statues. To preserve these priceless artifacts and enhance the experience of visitors, the temple decided to transform part of its premises into a museum.

The museum required a security solution to protect its valuable items while allowing visitors to enjoy them closely without risk of damage. Preventing visitors from touching or encroaching on these relics became a top priority. After careful evaluation of available options, the temple opted for OPTEX’s REDSCAN technology to provide the required protection.

OPTEX's Solution

OPTEX proposed the REDSCAN mini, an advanced LiDAR-based security device. This invisible laser wall creates an unnoticeable detection zone around the artifacts. When a visitor steps into the restricted area or reaches towards an object, the system instantly detects the intrusion and sends a signal to a control panel, which triggers an alarm siren at the scene. Simultaneously, on-site staff are notified to intervene promptly, ensuring both the safety of the artifacts and a seamless visitor experience.
