In a tragic incident at a school in Na Klang District, Thailand, an intruder entered the premises and opened fire, resulting in the loss of 36 lives. This heartbreaking event emphasized the urgent need for improved security measures to prevent such occurrences in the future.
In response, the school recognized the importance of implementing an effective security system to enhance the safety of students, staff, and visitors. They initially considered installing an access control system and a video management system (VMS) to monitor and control the entry points throughout the school. However, after evaluating the cost and time required for installation, it became clear that the investment would be substantial and the setup process would take an extended period, which could not address the immediate security concerns.

Given the situation, OPTEX proposed a comprehensive yet cost-effective wireless security solution utilizing the GENIO control system, integrated with sirens and additional signal repeaters. Considering the large area and multiple buildings within the school, OPTEX suggested deploying additional GEN-RP signal repeaters to ensure complete coverage across the entire campus.
The proposed OPTEX solution provides a quick response mechanism in case of an intrusion. If an intruder enters the school grounds, security personnel or teachers can press the panic button, immediately triggering all sirens installed throughout the school to alert every one of the dangers. Upon hearing the sirens, students and staff are instructed to evacuate to the nearest classroom, where designated teachers will guide students to safety and execute the school’s emergency procedures accordingly.
